Alaska Tribal Cache hits Hallmark

Attached are scanned images of The Hallmark Magazine's January/February Issue. This is a brand new women's magazine and only the third issue they have ever printed. I am delighted to tell you that The Alaska Tribal Cache made it to the top of the Totem Pole in an article about unique jams and jellies!

Our Salmonberry Jelly was featured in a section about brunch called, 'Lets Toast America'. The feature showcases a picture of our salmonberry jelly (on the top of the stack) and lists our product first!

"We searched coast-to-coast to find a collection of unique jams and jellies to top your toast (or scones, waffles or pacakes). Top to bottom.",

"Salmonberry Jelly This rare berry grows wild on the Alaskan > coast. It has a deep raspberrylike flavor. Alaska Tribal Cache > Salmonberry Jelly, $2 for 2-ounce jar; alaskajamandjelly.com or > 800-270-7810."

WAY TO GO TEAM!!!!!

Hitchin it to Nashville

On our way back from Fayette Andie got the bright idea to take advantage of the photo op afforded be the highway signage. She pulled over and hiked into the "I'm sure there is snakes there" bush, while whimpy me leaned out the car window to take the shot.

As soon as she got around to the other side of the car, a truck pulled over. I didn't think much of it, until he started honking. Then it occured to me, some kind soul had pulled over to pick her up.

She ran up and advised him of the situation, he was clearing off the bench seat so she would have a place to sit. Anyone who sez the reign of the gentleman is over has obviously never been to Tennessee.

Green Acres Farm

The trip to Green Acres Farm gave us the opportunity to listen to all the tracks Andie was considering for her CD, and one ballad, When I Get Tired Of Being Strong was exceptionally eloquent. A really special song.

We met Moondoggy's breeders, got licked to death by their herd of small dogs. Picked up Moondoggy and were soon on our way back to Nashville. The little papillion is obviously a ladies man. Stopped by Target on the way back and got him outfitted for an Alaskan winter. We tried the cute velvet and malibou feather rhinestone numbers on him, he gave us that "Are you kidding me, I am NOT gay" look. Fun spoiler.

Country Cooking Sarge's Shack Style

Off of the I-65 Interchange, at Exit 14. aka Highway 64 you will find a restaurant called Sarge's Shack. This Frankewing, Tennessee establishment prides itself at being the finest in steaks, fish, and rice. Why you would brag about being the finest in rice is beyond me, but who am I to comment on the local market.

We decided to immerse ourselves in real, honest to god country cooking. So Andrea got down into catfish whereas I was more the fried green tomatoes and fried corn on the cob kind of girl. The tomatoes were great once you removed the breading, and the corn, well, it was nothing like anything else I ever tasted.

Number One Hooker Wig

It is always fun to try a new look, so we stopped by a wig shop to take a walk on the wilder side. Originally, Andie was just looking for a piece to make her pony tail longer...but then we thought, what the heck. Redhead? Blonde?

We were thinking that the blonde wig was pretty hot, until the shop keeper mentioned that it was her number one hooker wig. Couldn't get it off of Andies head fast enough. Wrong thing to say!

I thought she looked good as a blonde...don't you?

Dr. Puffer tells the truth about reindeer

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and
female reindeers grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer
drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to
mid-December. Female reindeers retain their antlers till after they
give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's
reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a
girl.
We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-ass man in
a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

Nashvilles Legendary Wild Horse Saloon

We stopped by the Wildhouse Saloon for a Keith Anderson concert benefiting Toys for Tots, and there we actually met two individuals who represented themselves as real live dyed-in-the-wool Nashville locals, OT and Jeremy.

Day of Beauty

Cali Devaney is responsible for the Cut and Shine. Rachael Dwyer the make up and brows. Both work at Trim, Classic Barber, Legendary Beauty at 2315 Twelfth Avenue South, Nashiville, TN 37204. Ring them up at 615.269.8029 or find them at TrimClassicBarber.com.

A very professional group who can find the star inside everyone and shine it up.

Of course we also went to the mall, where she had our toes painted red for Christmas.

Andie Blackwood and Robert Metzgar

Robert Metzgar of Capitol Management Group tells the best music industry stories ever told. Having dinner with him and Andie was a treat I enjoyed several times. What a couple of crack ups these two are together.

Robert is one of the Smokey River Boys that served as muse for the Soggy Bottom Boys of Brother Where Art Thou?

Christmas Cookies

Casmir and I made of ton of them this weekend using our great-great aunt Hazel's sugar cookie dough. We made stars, hearts, and Alaska King Crabs. And she loved the puppy.

And my favorite boat captain sent me this one:

Typos are very important to all written form. It gives the reader something to look for so they aren't distracted by the total lack of content in your writing.
- Randy K. Milholland

You just have to love him for being so thoughtful to take the time to spin that quote in my direction.

New Edition to the Family

Picked up a present for Casmir while I was in Tennessee. His AKC registered name is Alaska Gidgets Moondoggy. Four pound male teacup papillion from Green Acres Farm. Found him after a several month search using PuppyFind.com Tried several other sites, this one was the bomb!
